The next episode of the Cyber Valley Podcast features Frank Hutter, who joined the ELLIS Institute as Hector Fellow and Principal Investigator in May 2024. Frank has been a Full Professor for Machine Learning at the University of Freiburg since 2016, and an Emmy Noether Research Group Lead since 2013. He is a pioneer in the field of Automated Machine Learning (AutoML), the science of progressively automating machine learning.
Frank’s research and expertise make him a distinguished guest at many conferences, workshops, and other events. In recent years, Frank has focused on developing the first foundation model for tabular data, TabPFN, and enhancing pretraining and fine-tuning techniques with AutoML.
