The ELLIS Institute Tübingen was proud to participate in the EurIPS Conference, held from December 2–7, 2025 in Copenhagen, which brought together around 2,000 participants.

The event began with the ELLIS Unconference, a day dedicated to open discussions, workshops, and poster sessions. It was a particularly memorable occasion for the ELLIS Institute Tübingen, as our Principal Investigator, Maksym Andriushchenko was awarded the ELLIS PhD Award 2025! This exciting start set the stage for a week full of engaging sessions, fruitful discussions, and vibrant scientific exchange.

Following the Unconference, the very first EurIPS conference took place. Endorsed by the 39th annual Neural Information Processing Systems (NeurIPS) conference, one of the world’s leading events in artificial intelligence and machine learning, EurIPS offered an extensive program covering foundational machine learning, algorithmic innovations, and AI applications in science, health, and society. The NeurIPS endorsement ensured high scientific standards while emphasizing open collaboration and global engagement.

The ELLIS Institute Tübingen gladly supported EurIPS as a Silver Sponsor and was in Copenhagen with a booth, providing a visible hub for engagement and networking. Our participation included:

  • Presentations and posters from ELLIS Institute Tübingen Principal Investigators and students, highlighting ongoing research in fundamental machine learning.
  • Workshops and discussions that facilitated deep engagement with the international research community.
  • Networking and collaborations that strengthened partnerships and created opportunities for future joint projects.

Looking Ahead

EurIPS 2025, endorsed by NeurIPS, was an inspiring week that began with collaborative discussions during the Unconference and continued with cutting-edge research presentations throughout the conference. The event underscored the importance of interdisciplinary and international collaboration. The ELLIS Institute Tübingen looks forward to building on this momentum and continuing to advance scientific excellence in the European AI community.
